Pine Pitch is Hosting A Flood Aid Concert

August 30 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The concert will be on the outdoor stage located on the Central Avenue side of the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and sit on the grassy area in front of the outdoor stage or on Central Avenue, which will be closed to traffic between Main Street and the Warehouse Theatre from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 30.
If weather becomes an issue, this free concert will be moved indoors into the Deane Center’s Coolidge Theatre.

There is no admission fee for the concert. The Deane Center is providing the use of the outdoor stage and, in case of rain, of the Coolidge Theatre for free. Jeff Ahlum is providing the use of his sound equipment and will be volunteering his time to run sound for the event.

Performing will be the fourteen members of Pine Pitch A Cappella; Joe Callahan and Molly Cary of the House of Sterling; and other soloists and musical groups. Members of Pine Pitch A Cappella are: Anne Acker, Ian Brennan, Toni Burch, Dave Fox, Lilace Guignard, Kacy Hagan, Matt Huels, Karin Knaus, Jennifer Roth, Morgan Shaffer, John Swanson, Jodi Tahsler, Keith Thornes and Jeanie Tubbs.

Pine Pitch originally began in 2015 as holiday carolers, but has grown into a year-round a cappella group that performs popular music throughout the area at fundraisers and community gatherings. They regularly bring their joy of singing to area nursing homes and assisted living centers, First Friday events in Wellsboro, the annual Martin Luther King Jr. concert, and other events.

Audience members are encouraged to bring cash and make a donation to help those who sustained flood damage. All donations collected at the event will be provided to the flood relief fund set up through the Tioga County Partnership for Community Health. Electronic donations can be made at https://givebutter.com/LCUWflood_tioga.

One hundred percent of the funds collected will be used to directly benefit flood remediation efforts in Tioga County, PA. For more information on how to donate to this fund, visit tiogapartnership.org or call 570-723-0520.
