An old-style threshing bee and farm show is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14, at a site just off Rt. 6 in Mina, west of Coudersport. Klein Family Century Farm, operated by Karl and Ilene Altenhein, hosts the free event to preserve activities that were once a major part of rural living in the area. Starting at 10 am, antique tractors, sawmills, pump jacks, automobiles and engines will be on display. There will also be demonstrations of threshing, sacking and straw-baling. A quilting cabin will be in operation with a spinning wheel display, yard winders, quilt in frame and old-time kitchen utensils. Serving of a chili lunch starts at 12:30. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to pass.
