Poetry at the Gallery workshop with Judith Sornberger

The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is pleased to announce an upcoming “Poetry at the Gallery” workshop with Judith Sornberger. Judith will lead students in writing poetry that responds to the art on exhibit at the Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center. This month’s Main Gallery exhibit is inspired by the poem “In Flanders Fields.” The artist, Christiane David, has captured the fleeting beauty of poppies with her impressionistic oil paintings that pay homage to the sacrifices of soldiers past and present.
No previous writing experience is necessary to participate. Come ready to engage, experiment, write, and connect with the art and your emotions. Leave with new drafts and strategies for future poems.
The writing workshop will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 11AM. Participants will be able to view the exhibits when no one else is in the building to let their creativity flow. Class is open to adults only, and is limited to 15 participants. The cost is $25. Pre-registration and payment are required.
